Graphics: 19/20
I would have loved to give the graphics on the game a straight 20 (which they pretty much deserve), but the dithering and banding problem, as well as the missing floor textures in D3D took off that extra point. I know this is in the drivers, but it still affects the visual quality. Besides that though, you couldn't possibly wish for any better graphics in a game, and I really doubt we'll see any until Unreal 2 is released.
Gameplay: 18/20
The gameplay of UT is, much of the time, TOO quick paced to enjoy the game fully, due to the tight, cramped up levels. But if you drag that out of the way, and frag after frag, then it's great. As for story line...well...it's a multiplayer game, and you can't expect much of a story from this genre. But their is actually a story. Your a worker on a planet, and the government decides to start having tournaments to make more money for themselves (suprise, suprise). The full story is explained in the beginning of the game, so I'll let you find the rest of it out for yourself when you buy the thing. UT's wide arrange of mission styles also add to the gaming experience. With 6 different mission types, it's really hard to get bored of the game. Each mission style has about 10 different individual missions for it.
BOT AI: 20/20
I never thought a BOT AI would actually be good enough to actually challenge the player, but UT is full of suprises. If you thought the AI of Unreal was something, then UT will blow you away. I was suprised how effectivly the AI played in CTF missions. At various times of the mission, a bot would decide your not doing that well, and he'll follow you around defending you. The bots really know their way around the missions also. In Unreal, and bots like Eraser (for Quake 2), occasionally the BOT would get caught in a corner, or run into walls and turn around--but that is not a problem in UT. The BOTS also have speech files included with UT, which enables them to talk to you. They report when someone is killed, when they are defending you, or other situations. You'll have to see it in action to believe it.
