Yes, let's call it as we see it.

I can just see the developers of this game having an argument ending in the phrase "Dude, stop getting your gameplay mixed up in my cutscene."

It's not that the story is bad. It's just that they CONSTANTLY rip control of the characters away from the characters for a CGI cutscene, after every 4-5 battles.

I'm hoping it has a chance to improve, but so far, it's tepid on that score, feeling almost like a push-button movie instead of a game.
