Gameplay of DJ Hero has been tried.

Initial impressions follow:
#1 - this is NOT a "party" game. People will not stand around 4 at a time, or even 2 at a time (should someone fork over more than $200 to get multiple controllers) to play this.

#2 - The difficulty scale, moreover the ability to pick up the game's skills (especially scratching on the inner button) is pretty steep. Another thing that makes it not a "party" game. Guitar Hero can be set to easy/medium and almost anyone can pick it up in 1 or 2 tries without needing the tutorial to understand the symbols going by.

#3 - My god, some of the mixes in this game suck. Especially the one featuring "Mr. Big Stuff", as done by a cover group of 3 atonal Yoko Ono impersonators.

Admittedly, this is a niche game that I'm probably not in the target audience for. As a music lover, I'm pretty much definitively OUT of the targe audience. That being said, I get the feeling the actual target audience for the game is pretty small.
