PC Games/Hardware/Microsoft
Gamasutra discovers some dirty coding tricks that developers have used to get their games to "pass" QA and get out the door at the time... many of which came back to bite expansion pack or community programmers later.

These are really some gems, too. I love the "frame count" bit.
