Responding to some of Sony's past bluster, Microsoft have let loose "hints" that they think PS3 migth get delayed longer than just to "Spring 2006".

"I?ll be happy to compete whenever they turn up, but I wouldn?t be surprised if that?s not until spring ?07,? he remarked. "If they hit Xmas ?06, then maybe it?ll be a very thin launch; a launch in name only." MCV also quoted an unnamed ?senior European publisher boss? who claimed he also wouldn?t be surprised if the PlayStation 3 didn?t launch in Europe until 2007 and with a price tag of up to ?499 ($876).

Slashdot calls the story FUD.

On the price point I'd have to agree, but on the release date - who knows? Especially with the Revolution, odd as it is, coming into the mix at the same time. It's going to be an interesting year for the games market.
