Final Breakdown


Solo-wise, it's much harder than the original. Multiplayer requires too much power leveling just to get a character ready.


Like the first, only more so. To be expected with a sequel.

Sound and music:

The music is all ripped right out of the first title, and eventually gets irritating, but not for a good long while.


Two-player battles only, still, and the frustration to get a character to high level for battling is a bit much.

AI and Difficulty:

More difficult than the first, but that's more due to the inability to capture monsters willy-nilly than anything to do with the AI.

Controls and Interface:

Ripped right from the first, they're still stellar.


If you liked the first, give it a try. If you hated the first, still give it a try. Worthy of "bargain bin gem" status.
