Final Breakdown
Gameplay:

One of the most thorough and deep space simulations ever. The game is tons of fun to play and is full of campaigns, but the original campaign lacks a lot of refinement the Defiance campaign does.
Graphics:

While the graphics are very nice and attractive, the incredibly low resolution and detail to the background really kills it. There is 3D Acceleration support, but only on Glide.
Sound and Music:

Very well done, the sounds are great quality and add atmosphere to the game. The voice acting is superb, but there is nothing to match the mood of the game in music.
Multiplayer:
N/A
No multiplayer options.
AI and Difficulty:

Very smart AI, creative moves and action by the computer enemies. The wingmen are also smart, but the downside of the game is that it is extremely hard, many gamers may be intimidated by the difficulty.
Controls and Interface:

Very good control with both joystick or keyboard, but the interface is a bit confusing, and keys can't be configured.
Overall:

Rock solid game, which many should enjoy. If you already own the original IWar, there is a $10 rebate so making the game only $19.95, a very solid price for the added Defiance campaign.
