Final Breakdown

Gameplay:

It's pretty much standard FPS gameplay, but the character interactions are as strong as ever.

Graphics:

The lighting is beautiful, but poly counts are a tad low in some places. And it takes a beast of a system to run. One other note; turn the Bloom feature OFF, it looks a whole lot better.

Sound and music:

Back to square one -- but in a good way. The musical/sound score retains the brilliance of the original game.

AI and Difficulty:

There are still some stupid enemies, but not as many; firefights are a bit more intense at times if you're being a brute, and recon before engaging is a definite must.

Controls and Interface:

Since the 1.1 patch, it's gotten a lot better; the interface is well done. I still prefer the original's extra depth, but I can stomach the new inventory system.

Overall:

Not a Game of the Year title on its own, but definitely retaining the influences that made the first game so good. A must-experience title.
