Reviewed: Drakan: Order of the Flame
Product Type:Game
Price: ~$40
Overall Rating:
Author: Jeff 'Obsidian' Klein       Date: September 1st 1999

Score/Conclusion

Graphics/Sound:

The graphics and the original graphics engine are great. The detailed models, and beautifly rendered terrain make this game a wonder to behold. The aureals are adequate, although a nice musical score would be appreciated.

Gameplay:

Despite a few AI weaknesses, and a few jumping puzzles here and there, this game is tons of fun!. 'Nuf said.

Multiplayer:

Fun, not quite as awesome as single player. A few new maps/mods/games could really make it more interesting.

Learing Curve:

If you know standard FPS controlls, you can adapt to these in a short amount of time. Otherwise it might be a bit confusing.

Overall Rating:

Drakan: Order of the Flame, is a great idea that's executed almost perfectly. No matter what type of games you like, I suggest you give this one a try. And I really hope to see more games along these lines in the future! I'd like to thank Drakan.net for the screen shots below, as I don't currently have a screen shot program. Go there for way more, especially since I had to reduce the quality on these so I had time to upload them on my 28.8 connection.
