Final Breakdown

The single-player and multiplayer are decent, but the controls and options missing really hurt.

The graphics are great, worthy of the DS9 franchise, but Trek games tend to have good graphics.

Sound and Music:

The original soundtrack just doesn't do quite as much as it could for the game, though the faithfully recreated sound effects help quite a bit.

The multiplayer is decent but not great, and the ability to bring in custom ships is too limited to really help.

AI and Difficulty:

The AI is good, but far from perfect. One thing I really liked: your wingmen are actually competent.

Controls and Interface:

Fighting the interface really hurts the game, especially the lack of a pause option that will let you give orders.

Leave it on the shelf.

Pluses (+)
  • Graphics are great.
  • Minuses (-)
  • Major gameplay flaws.
  • Multiplayer ship imports from Starship Creator aren't useful at all.
