Final Breakdown

It's classic beat-em-up gaming almost at its peak, wonderfully responsive to controls and best enjoyed in a group setting.

Dan Tobias' art style really shines, especially on a wide-screen setting.

Sound and Music:

The music is great, the sound effects (what few they are) stellar as well.

Difficulty can be set as players want - there is a "hardcore" mode once the game's been beaten once, and it's a whole new world of hurt. On the other hand, there are a few enemies who are just "cheap" in the classic sense, and that can be a serious source of frustration.

Controls and Interface:

The main problem is actually a minor art issue that makes the "marker" image for digging spots somewhat hard to hunt down at times. Tune your TV's brightness and keep your eyes open.

If you've got an Xbox 360, put Castle Crashers on your must-have list.
