Final Breakdown

Regrettable, basic level design and a short single-player game don't make for anything more than a one-off play.

In this, at least, Raven did well. The island of Katorga-12 is beautiful, in an insane, post-apocalyptic sort of way.

Sound and Music:

Voice actors and atmospherics do very well; the music, on the other hand, is forgettable.

Despite trying at times to be a horror game, ammunition or health starvation is never a real problem, and even the boss monsters are taken down rather swiftly.

Controls and Interface:

In this, Raven tried to do too much, and they put a number of controls in bad places, sharing buttons with other controls.

It would have been good to be able to mark this as one to bide time until the next Bioshock, but in reality, it's a "rent and return" at best. Good premise, bad execution.
