Final Breakdown

100% true to the original Populous; the added powers add options, but not at the detriment of the core gameplay.

The DS is starting to show its age; Populous DS is good-looking, but obviously at the limits of what they could do on the DS's processing power.

Sound and Music:

Sounds are one area where the game falls flat; aside from the music played during Armageddon at the end of each level, you might as well just leave it silent.

The extra gods and options make for a challenge; going back to play levels with differing powers is interesting.

Controls and Interface:

The DS's stylus interface is interesting, but definitely not the end-all, be-all of game input design. Despite their best efforts, the most efficient way to play is to use the d-pad and button shortcuts, and leave stylus input only for when absolutely necessary. Fortunately, both options are available.

Grab it and enjoy - you won't be disappointed.
