Final Breakdown

Gameplay:

You've got to be a fan of Tactics-style games to enjoy this - plenty of backtracking to older battlefields and playing around tweaking character and party builds. If you can't stand a certain level of tedium, you might be better served with another title.

Graphics:

The PSP doesn't look much better - but it's telling that just about all the game, except the battle maps, is rendered in 2D.

Sound and Music:

Voice acting? So-so. Music? Stunning as always for the Wild Arms series.

Difficulty:

Is it difficult? Depends how fast you move through and how much you level before hitting each area. First game I've ever seen that recommends you walk away from a fight you keep losing to go level up before trying again.

Controls and Interface:

Some odd quirks in the interface - such as constantly clearing out weapon and item equipment choices - make it a bit weird. There's a lot of housekeeping before, and during, each battle.

Overall:

If you're a hardcore Wild Arms fan, or else someone who really enjoys Tactics-style games, it's a good choice. Otherwise, rent before buying.
