Final Breakdown

The HEX fighting system is superb, adding a bit more depth while keeping the basics of turn-based RPG combat intact. Being able to switch out characters in a fight is a nice touch, as is the fact that characters kept "on the sidelines" don't fall behind in power.

It's not quite to the same level as Final Fantasy 12, but it can hold its own with any PS2 title on the market. The anime-style shading and character design really help it out.

Sound and Music:

Passable English voice acting, but the music is very well done.

As RPG titles go it's not that difficult - but it is fun to play.

Controls and Interface:

I'd give it 5, but some of the menu system suffers - there's a pretty long learning curve for figuring out where all the various options are.

If you're looking for something fun to play, or you're an RPG fan in general, this deserves to be in your collection.
