Reviewed: Dragon's Lair Blu-Ray Edition
Producer: Digital Leisure
Required System: PS3 or Blu-Ray Player
Overall Rating:
Author: Michael Ahlf
Date: June 10th, 2007

Another year, another format - and another chance for the old Laserdisc games of the past to make a comeback. A while back, I reviewed Dragon's Lair HD, Digital Leisure's offering of a "definitive" version of Dragon's Lair for Windows machines; it took a DVD, put the game in highly compressed Windows Media video format, and offered up a variety of resolutions and scaling for 16:9 monitors.

It was also the most responsive version of Dragon's Lair I'd ever seen, short of an original arcade cabinet.

What I didn't know then was that Digital Leisure still had a few more tricks up their formidable sleeves; enter Dragon's Lair Blu-Ray, which not only took the stunning transfer that was Dragon's Lair HD's source and put it in stunning Blu-ray definition, but added on some extras that fans of Don Bluth's gem will love.
