Quake 3 has become the prime display of OpenGL benchmarks. With pre-defined display modes, it makes a perfect benchmarking tool. The retail version of Q3A was used, and the included DEMO01 was used for the tests.

The strangest thing I noticed about the above benchmarks was that the Fastest tests were much slower than the Fast tests. This obviously means the GeForce doesn't like vertex lighting much, as that is what the Fastest test uses, while Fast uses lightmaps.
