Final Breakdown


The gameplay compared to the last Spider-Man game Treyarch put out is so overwhelmingly lacking, it's painful.


Okay, they got the graphical engine down. It looks in every respect like the Ultimate Spider-Man art style, through and through.

Sound and Music:

Some lackluster tunes that really don't do a lot for the gameplay permeate the game. Best played with the music volume turned down.


Nothing in the game is necessarily difficult, once you've shaken off your control habits from Spider-Man 2.

Controls and Interface:

This is part of the problem. While the controls do the same things they did in Spider-Man 2, the number of options is so reduced as to be sad.


Stick with Spider-Man 2, unless you're giving it as a gift to a child who's never played Spider-Man 2.
