In the world of adventure games, there's
one big-name company left, a somewhat recent but aptly named company known
as The Adventure Company - though also know as Dreamcatcher Games when
they're not publishing adventure titles. I've come to appreciate new titles
from them, because with rare exceptions, they're well thought out games that
don't include a lot of the old varieties of pixel-hunting and instead focus
on making fun puzzles and engaging stories, like reading an adventure novel.
Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern is another
great game in this line, taking learned gameplay from titles like Aura: Fate
of the Ages and Return to Mysterious Island and presenting players with a view
of what life may have been like for our ancestors long in the distant past.
It's a well thought out and enjoyable title, worthy of a look for anyone. |
