Final Breakdown

Gameplay:

Solo-wise, it's fun but not something ultimately engaging. Solo mode is more of a chore to open vehicles, but it's a fun chore. That being said, driving around with friends is great in this game.

Graphics:

The Xbox renders beautifully; the only graphical nuisances are the occasional pedestrian that you pass right through.

Sound and music:

The music doesn't intrude much, but doesn't do much either. Brew your own and drop it in to taste and you're much better off. On the other hand, it supports custom soundtracks, and that's always a good thing.

Multiplayer:

System Link or Live play? Great. Split-Screen? Not quite so good. Still, in any mode it's engaging, and it is what this game was designed for.

AI and Difficulty:

Difficult? Not really. Annoying? Yes.

Controls and Interface:

Great use of the Xbox controller; it was designed with this sort of game partly in mind, and it shows.

Overall:

A pretty good game; fans of arcade racers won't be so excited, but those who like Crazy Taxi and just want to run around the cities with their buddies will love it.
