Reviewed: Megaman X7
Author: Michael Ahlf       Date: October 23rd, 2003

Final Breakdown

Gameplay:

Nothing new, despite the moving of the game to PS2, and some real control issues in this game.

Graphics:

2D-side... breathtaking. 3D-side... boring.

Sound and music:

Standard Megaman fare. It loses a notch because familiar themes and effects don't seem to be present.

AI and Difficulty:

The AI, like in most Megaman titles, is predictable - the bosses work by pattern. The difficulty is just camera- and- control-derived, nothing more.

Controls and Interface:

How Capcom managed to screw the controls on a Megaman game up so bad, I have no idea.. though X6 was similarly gimped for Zero.

Overall:

Only worthwhile if you're an absolute die-hard fan of the series.
